The Williamsburg Area Council of Garden Clubs honor Veterans with Blue Star Memorial Marker

The Williamsburg Area Council of Garden Clubs dedicated a Blue Star Memorial Marker honoring Veterans on Veterans Day.  The site is located in Bicentennial Park at the intersection of Nassau and Newport Avenue.  The 1:30pm ceremony included patriotic music by members of the Warhill High School Chamber Group; a color guard provided by the William & Mary ROTC cadets;  garden club dignitaries from around the state; ands Mayor Paul Freiling accepting the Marker on behalf of the City of Williamsburg.  Pictured are T. C. Smith, Commander, Williamsburg Chapter Military Order of the Purple Heart who delivered the Military Tribute and William “Bill” White, Commander American Legion Post 39,  who  assisted in the unveiling of the Marker.
